That is exactly what happened with Reprompt, a now‑patched vulnerability that allowed user data to be exfiltrated with a single click on a link. Yes, one click. No pop‑ups, no permission prompts, no clear warnings. And that is precisely what makes this flaw so unsettling.

Copilot does not arrive at this incident during its best reputational moment. The attack, discovered by Varonis Threat Labs, was named Reprompt and exploited an apparently harmless Copilot feature: the ability to pass prompts through a URL using the q parameter.
