During the 27th edition of the Ingram Micro Soles Awards, Luis Férez, the global group president for Latin America, shared several achievements that marked 2022 as a great year for the company.
To begin with, he proudly mentioned that Ingram Micro was ranked among the 15 Best Companies to Work For in Mexico, a recognition that reflects the company’s commitment to its team members. Additionally, they were very active in supporting companies as they returned to offices and transitioned to a hybrid work model, which continues to be a challenge for many.
In terms of market performance, the numbers speak for themselves: Ingram Micro achieved a 27% market share in computing sales, 29% in storage and servers, and moved 1.45 billion pesos in financial services. According to Férez, all of this is the result of a well-targeted strategy.
Speaking of strategy, he emphasized their strong focus on integrated solutions, cybersecurity, and cloud services. In cybersecurity, for example, they experienced 18% growth, working with a portfolio that includes over 20 brands. In the cloud segment, they are not far behind: they already cover 42% of the market, with 459,000 active users on their platform.
Another key point was the investment made in their Center of Operations and Excellence (COE), from which they support clients in Mexico and Latin America. In 2022 alone, they handled more than 10,000 technical support, pre-sales, and post-sales requests.
Furthermore, their Solutions Program succeeded in adding over 800 developing partners, and currently has 244 active partners. Férez highlighted this as proof of how they are helping channels find new opportunities and develop capabilities that enable them to grow.
To conclude, he shared a compelling figure: annual revenue reached $3.051 billion, representing 28% of the market. Of that total, 20% came from solution sales, confirming that their strategic focus is on the right track.
What’s Ahead for 2023: New Strategies and Focus on Digital Transformation
Ingram Micro already has several exciting plans on the radar for 2023. One of the most noteworthy is an event that will take place in Las Vegas, where they will present their strategy at the global, regional, and national levels. Without a doubt, it’s a great opportunity to understand the direction the company is taking and how they plan to continue leading the way in the tech industry.
As for Mexico, they shared that a key component of their strategy will be Xvantage, their platform specifically designed to drive channel growth. According to Luis Férez, this tool is a fundamental part of the company’s digital transformation process, and its goal is clear: to help partners become more efficient, make better decisions, and fully leverage data intelligence.
“With Xvantage, we aim to enable our partners to operate with greater agility and generate new business opportunities. It’s a necessary evolution to compete in an ever-changing environment,” said Férez.
